For younger learners, I recommend keeping alphabet practice simple and playful rather than trying to complete several worksheets at once.
Choose one Letter C worksheet and introduce the picture first.
You might say:
“This is a cat. Cat begins with C. C says /k/ in cat.”
Then have the child point to the uppercase C and lowercase c before coloring the page.
Once the picture is finished, children who are ready for handwriting practice can trace the sentence at the bottom.
You could introduce one page each day throughout your Letter C week rather than completing the entire set at once. That provides repeated exposure to C while changing the picture enough to keep the activity interesting.

A simple paper plate cat craft would be a fun hands-on activity to pair with these Letter C worksheets.
Children can complete the C is for cat coloring page and then make their own cat.
Paper Plate Cat Craft Supplies
You will need:
- One paper plate
- Washable paint or crayons
- Construction paper
- Child-safe scissors
- Glue
- Black marker
- Optional yarn for whiskers
How to Make a Paper Plate Cat
- Color or paint the paper plate and allow it to dry if using paint.
- Cut two triangle-shaped ears from construction paper.
- Glue the ears behind the top of the paper plate.
- Cut a small triangle for the nose.
- Glue the nose near the center of the plate.
- Draw two eyes and a mouth.
- Draw whiskers with a black marker or glue short pieces of yarn beside the nose.
- Add spots, stripes, or other details to create a unique cat.
While children are crafting, continue reinforcing the sound:
“Cat begins with C.”
You can even write a large C on the back of the finished craft.
