This worksheet is great for helping students with counting. My free printable add the zoo animals worksheet features a variety of zoo animals that have to be added in each box. Each box has the number of animals that need to be added on the left an they must write the number on the left. After they are finished adding up all the animals, your preschoolers can color in the pictures.
Which One is Bigger or Smaller?
These “which one is bigger or smaller” worksheets are great for helping students practice their comparison skills. In each worksheet, there are three images of zoo animals and the student must decide which one is bigger and smaller. This worksheet also encourages problem-solving and critical thinking skills as your children must make a decision on which animal is bigger or smaller.
Zoo Animal Memory Cards
My zoo animal memory cards are a great way for kids to learn about the different animals found in the zoo. These printable cards feature pictures of various zoo animals on them. Kids must match the pairs together by remembering which one goes with which. This activity is also a lot of fun and encourages your children to use their memory skills as well as practice their counting.
Zoo Animal Crown Craft
This Zoo Animal Crown Craft is a fun way to help your kids learn about zoo animals. Kids can print out the crown template and then color in the zoo animal on it. They will love wearing their paper crowns around the house! This activity also encourages creativity as well as art and design skills.
More activities for teaching about Zoo Animals
There are plenty of other fun activities you can do to help your kids learn more about zoo animals. Here are some of my favorite activities:
- Make an animal mobile – Kids can cut out zoo animals, color them in and then hang them up as a mobile.
- Go on an Animal Scavenger Hunt – Have your children search around the house to find things that look like each of the animals from the zoo. Once they have found all the items, they can put them together to create a zoo.
- Create an Animal Collage – Have your kids cut out pictures of different animals from magazines and glue them onto paper. They can then write about what they have learned about each animal.
- Read books about zoo animals – There are plenty of great children’s books out there that teach kids all sorts of facts about zoo animals.
- Take a virtual tour of the zoo – If you can’t make it to the zoo, you can take an online tour with your kids and learn about the different habitats and types of animals in each one.
