Reading in itself provides so many benefits but I recently read an article about how parents should encourage their children to read with a bookmark. It got me thinking about not only the many benefits that using a bookmark can provide when reading but how much fun my children enjoy using them.
I enjoy using bookmarks for many different reasons. They are great placeholders and they help keep your books in tip-top shape much longer.
Since I enjoy making my own crafts and coloring, I think making your own bookmarks is a great craft that you can do with your kids and a way to get the benefits of bookmarks and crafts at the same time. Here is a list of some of my favorite coloring bookmarks.

I love bookmarks and I enjoy coloring flowers, so I thought a perfect combination for a reading bookmark is a floral coloring bookmark.
