Looking for a fun and educational way to keep the kids engaged this winter? Memory games might be the perfect solution! Memory games were one of my favorite activities growing up, and now I have created a free printable winter themed memory game that you can download and print for your little ones to enjoy.
Importance of Memory Games
Memory games are not just fun, they also have numerous benefits for children. They help improve their concentration, attention span, and cognitive skills. Playing memory games also encourages students to use their critical thinking skills as they try to match the cards with similar pictures or words. Winter Themed Memory Game
To add some extra excitement and seasonal spirit to the traditional memory game, I have created a winter themed version. The game includes 24 colorful and adorable graphics of winter-related objects such as snowflakes, mittens, hot cocoa, and more.
This will not only keep the kids entertained but also help them learn about different winter items.
I have also included the colorful back of design for the cards. You can print and laminate these cards for repeated use.
How to Make Your Memory Game Cards
Creating your own memory game cards is very easy. All you need is a printer, cardstock paper, and scissors.
- Download the winter themed memory game by entering your email in the form below.
- Print the background page from the printable on one side & turn the regular paper over and print the memory card design on the other side.
- Cut out the cards along the white lines.
- Laminate the cards for extra durability if you wish.
- Then let your children or students start playing!
How to Play the Winter Themed Memory Game
- Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a grid-like fashion.
- The first player flips two cards over to reveal their images.
- If the cards match, they get to keep the pair and take another turn.
- If the cards do not match, they must be turned back over and play moves on to the next player.
- The game continues until all pairs have been matched.
- The player with the most pairs wins!
Additional Activities for Winter Theme Memory Game
Here are some fun ideas for incorporating this winter themed memory game into your lesson plans or activities:
- Have your child or students write sentences using each of the words on the memory game cards.
